Ronald Ira LeVine, 75, a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and accomplished attorney, died peacefully at his home of 45 years in Mahwah, NJ on February 4, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Ron was born August 4, 1948 in Paterson, NJ to the late Dr. H. Burton LeVine and Ethel (Braveman) LeVine. He graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ (1965), McGill University (B.Sc. 1969), and York University Law School (LLB 1972). It was during his time completing his undergraduate and Law degrees in Montreal and Toronto, respectively, that Ron developed what became a lifelong affinity for Canada. Ron returned home to NJ after law school to practice in Hackensack with his older brother, Lawrence. Soon thereafter, Ron established his own practice, which he ran successfully for nearly five decades until retiring in 2023. Throughout his distinguished career, Ron performed his legal work with distinction and to wide acclaim, demonstrating leadership through speaking engagements and appearing in numerous trade and general-readership publications. Ron served the public through roles on numerous committees as well as leadership positions both professionally and in the community. Most notably, Ron was Municipal Court Judge in Midland Park, Chair of the NJ State Bar Association’s Consumer Protection Committee, President of the McGill Alumni Association of NY, and Board Attorney for the NJ Ski Council. He also held various local elected and appointed positions in Midland Park and Mahwah.

Ron was a lover of all things winter sports related, as well as of Highland Lakes, NJ, where he enjoyed spending time on the lake at his Petite Chateau Bleu. After taking up downhill skiing in his 20s, he proceeded to instill a love of skiing to multiple generations of his family, and became a certified Nordic Ski Instructor. An avid reader and lifelong learner, Ron was passionate about traveling off the beaten path with friends and family, traversing five continents. He was active with the Garden State Ski Club for 35 years, a source of many of his dearest and closest friends. Ron was also a licensed amateur radio operator, proudly holding a FCC Amateur Radio Extra Class license (highest qualification), and a longtime congregant of Temple Beth Rishon in Wyckoff, NJ.

With all his professional accomplishments, Ron’s family was of most importance to him. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Miriam “Micki” Goldberger-LeVine, devoted and loving children Scott (Natasha) LeVine, Courtney (Michael) Feehan, Brittany (Brian) Klimm, step-children Allison (Paul) Elkin and Gary (Elizabeth) Goldberger, brothers Lawrence LeVine and Mark LeVine, as well as many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Ron was predeceased by his loving parents, and beloved daughter, Kira (Robert) McClorey of Wyckoff, NJ.

A highly intelligent, curious, thoughtful, humble, and compassionate man, Ron will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and business associates.
