Obituary

Rachel Blumenstyk, passed away on April 26th, 2023, in Hackensack, New Jersey. Rachel was born in Jerusalem, and served as a Sergeant in the Israel Defense Forces. Following her military service, she immigrated to the United States where she enjoyed a long marriage with her husband Myron. Rachel had a love for education and became an inspirational and dedicated teacher and leader of Jewish studies. She loved life and lived it fully every day, embodying service to her community and family. Rachel was kind and generous. She took every moment to make others feel important, and did so elegantly. Rachel was unmistakably proud of her children and grandchildren.

Rachel is survived by her children, Anette (Gary) Lipman, Larry (Anna) Blumenstyk, grandchildren, Elyse McGarity, Joshua (Lauren) McGarity, Tyler, Jake, and Zachary Blumenstyk, sister Nechama Melech, and sister in law Fran Rosensweig. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Blumenstyk, sister, Esther Ron, and brother, Sy Rosensweig.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28, at 12:30pm.
