In Loving Memory

Elaine (Lainy) was a loving, huge hearted, good humored, sensitive woman who will be missed dearly by many.

Lainy, born March 23rd, 1954, was born and raised in Hackensack, NJ. She graduated from Hackensack High School in 1972 and graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University. She worked in her family’s business Lowits Men’s Clothing Store for over twenty years and went on to become one of the most favorite substitute teachers in her hometown of Old Tappan, NJ.

Lainy’s parents, Bess and Jack Linden (both deceased) recognized her musical talents at an early age. Lainy studied the guitar, flute and violin and was an accomplished piano player.

Lainy met the love of her life, Fred Walz in April of 1978. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on April 12, 1981.

Lainy and Fred couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. Lainy and Fred recently got the enjoyment of celebrating the marriages of both of their girls, Brittany (James Kramer) and Rachel (Greg Schwartz). Lainy had a soft spot for her “grand pups” Roscoe and Polaris, treating each one like the valuable family member they were.

Everyone who knew Lainy knew how much she enjoyed swimming and watching her “Jets” on a Sunday afternoon. Lainy will always be remembered for her kind spirit, her open-door policy, and her love of all of her extended family, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, David and is survived by her sister Bobbi (Mark), sister Natalie (Stephen).

Lainy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Memorial services for Lainy will be held at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel in Paramus on Tuesday, December 26th, at 11:30am. A graveside service will immediately follow at Beth El Cemetery in Paramus.

The family will be gathering at the family home in Old Tappan immediately after the services.
